List of products by brand DURAVIT

Duravit is a company with a centuries-old tradition. It was founded by Georg Friederich Horn, who in 1817 built a stoneware factory in Hornberg in the Black Forest for the manufacture of tableware. The expansion of the product range to include sanitary ware was the key to the company's later success. From 1950 onwards, the stoneware production was replaced by porcelain, and in 1960 a new name made its way into the sanitary world: Duravit. Today, Duravit AG is an international group with 10 production sites and more than 5,000 employees worldwide.

Duravit has won numerous international design awards, underlining the boldness for design that has become Duravit's brand motto. And then there are the designers. Both are specialists in their field, with renowned surnames and an unerring eye for good design. Good design without compromising on functionality. Design for design's sake" is not acceptable either for Duravit or for our designers. Duravit's most emblematic encounter with design was the start of the collaboration with Philippe Starck, which in 1994 gave rise to the Starck 1 series, a complete bathroom range including sanitary ware, furniture, bathtubs and accessories that has been on the market for almost thirty years.

Ceramics is one of the oldest cultural techniques, dating back to 8000 BC. Today, the production of Duravit sanitary ceramics is based on the same raw materials such as clay, kaolin, feldspar and quartz, all of which are naturally regenerative. Using environmentally friendly production techniques and stringent quality controls, these raw materials are turned into products that work for a long time and are almost indestructible.

Despite the fact that we live in the age of high technology and automation, in products with very high demands on design and functionality, quality very often depends on a matter of human craftsmanship. For this reason, Duravit maintains a high percentage of manual production to guarantee its high quality standards. This applies to the production of ceramics as well as to Duravit's other production sectors.

Sustainability is an increasingly valued precept and Duravit has been applying it for a long time in the selection of materials, in the use of technology and in the production process. Duravit not only supports the Black Forest nature park, Germany's largest nature park and a protected area, but also sponsors it and is committed to protecting water, air and soil. Firstly through careful production, where water and energy recovery technology is used, and secondly through the production of water-saving products. Duravit also pays attention to the possible effects on the environment right from the development phase of a new product and ensures that it is handled responsibly at all times. These efforts have paid off: Duravit AG has been awarded the official ISO 14001 environmental certificate thanks to its commitment to the environment.
